erichard Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Would that "one infinite God" ("The God above all other Gods") be the non-contingent cause of everything that exists? The "One Infinite God" (GOD) is definitely independent, and thus non-contingent, of any other finite being, or any infinite union of finite beings. But GOD does not rule in general by force, but by love, persuasion and example. Laws are set up by GOD and if a being agrees to live those laws and then breaks them, then and only then will GOD use force to bring about justice. Thus as much as possible, GOD allows each living being real freedom to choice what they will be. GOD does not seek to force any being to be what GOD wants. The universe was not created "out of nothing", but GOD does organize matter and intelligence from chaos into order, and it is done WITHOUT coercion and force as much as possible. What is GOD? GOD is Jesus of Nazareth, it is Abraham, Issac and Jacob, and Joseph, and Peter, James and John and Paul and their faithful wives, and all other men and women from this world right down to the present who overcome all things. GOD is also the Saviors and Joint Heirs with that Savior from all previous and present earths created for the same purpose of our earth. There are no higher intelligences than Jesus Christ and those joint heirs with him-- but others like them from previous earths are much further in progression. Thus, GOD is ultimately an infinite union of finite beings. They are in total absolute unity, and are thus collectively are ONE infinite Being. Of all the infinities of intelligences, GOD is only a very small percentage. But GOD nonetheless rules over all other intelligences. But what's meant by "world"?I believe it should say "earth" --like the one we are on.Did Brigham, Joseph, or anyone else ever clarify this?Does it mean planet, solar system, Galaxy, or universe?Read what Joseph taught concerning God according to this article.Richard
Maidservant Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 This earth is also our starter world. People think we are waiting to die, get resurrected, and judged, then set up as some CEO to some planet or universe. We don't always realize that we have already (in union) been given a WORLD to create--this one--and we are kind of, sort of doing a TERRIBLE JOB (thus far . . .).World and earth are two different things usually in the scriptures.World is a system of men, with or without a planet. And earth is a planet, with or without a system of men.It takes godliness to create a godly world. It does not take godliness to create a planet, just enough science and government funding (he he) (and if you think about it, does the prophet go and build every single bit of the temples, or does he contract out to Jones and Sons Builders? Jones and Sons aren't the prophet, but they have a delegation).
