How Would You React Upon Learning God Is Imperfect

I'm not making a case for God's character. I have nothing to prove. I'm simply curious to know what people think.

In the very unlikely case that you learn that God is not perfect, how would you react? What emotion would go through your mind? Would it bother you? Would it cause relief in any way? What do you think?

First how would I determine that God is "not perfect" against what standard or criterion would I judge Him? I would first have to deny the scriptures when Jesus said: "Be ye therefore perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect" also I would need to second guess where He has declared that He is a Holy being, full of truth and grace. How could I judge Him? As far as God having been a man and then becoming an exalted personage, this I already believe, so where could that upset me? As for Christ He declared His status to us, in the above statement, especially compared to the Book of Mormon expansion of that statement after His resurrection.

Personally, I would find comfort and awe in such knowledge. I say this because it would bring sense to a lot of my questions about religious history and events portrayed in the Bible. I would be able to make more sense of why there is suffering. This knowledge would not cause me to stop believing in a loving God for I understand parents (who are imperfect) are completely capable of loving their children.

As far as this goes I believe that God has all power and all knowledge and all love and all wisdom... we cannot in our mortal state comprehend all the knowledge and understanding of God, however if we will exercise our faith in Him and try to emulate His perfections, we can become as He is, it is no mystery to me that we are children of God and that we are of the same species as He is, but He has acheived the pinical of that perfection which He has commanded us to acheive through His grace and love. We cannot do it alone, we cannot do it without Him, just as He overcame and could not do it without His Father.

I would react by leaving the Catholic Church.

It is difficult to predict what emotion might prevail in any given circumstance.

It would be a significant bother to me .

I cannot think of any problems that would be solved by such knowledge. It would create problems, it would relieve nothing.

I think God is perfect and that a proper response to suffering is salvific.

I responded as I did without reflection, thinking that I need not try to calculate how anyone might receive my thoughts. To the best of my knoweldge, I answered as I did because I believe that what I said characterizes how I think I would think, feel, and react upon being convinced that I had verified somehow that God was imperfect.
