David T Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Depends on what he means. Some people think 'KJV Bible' is the bible itself, and don't understand that it's just a translation. (I was asked if the King James Version Bible is available in Spanish before ) - The NKJV is indeed just a revised version of the KJV with some archaisms replaced, and a few updates due to scholarship. I prefer the NRSV (New Revised Standard Version), although it has less of the 'traditional' phrasings and renderings as does the NKJV. The NKJV is a good 'intermediate' translation for those who are hard core traditionalists, but who want to dip their toes into some more readable english so that can, you know, actually begin to understand what they're reading.

It has footnotes, translations, helps, etc. haa haaI find such to be better than any of the other "translations" out there.And if you need more, to simply use www.bible.cc for example for comparisons, etc. Edited January 21, 2011 by Obiwan

Any comments on this version?Thanks.I prefer the NASB because the NASB and KJV are Transliterations and not merely just English Translations. The NASB stays true to the poetic literary style of the KJV, but without the Thee's and the Thou's.
