Jeff K. Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 And what term would you use if not singling out a group, even a large one. Any act of exclusivity reflects singling someone out.
semlogo Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 And what term would you use if not singling out a group, even a large one. Any act of exclusivity reflects singling someone out.In this case, the group singled out is the Levites - singled out to have the priesthood.

semlogo Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 So? You haven't countered my position. And a majority can indeed be singled out. MI have never seen the phrase "singled out" used to refer to a majority, let alone a vast, vast majority like "everyone on the planet except the Levites." Can you provide an example of this usage?
Jeff K. Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Sigh, and since Columbus never saw America, it must not exist. Your logic isn't very compelling. You can indeed single out a majority. I single out liberals in the state of California..... they are the majority relative to conservatives in the state.
evangelist Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Nor does God indulge in double negatives! However given the Levite question, apparently it is something else than "respecting persons" that comes into play. If someone wants to live the Levite lifestyle, then why can't they be a Levite?Yes. it the same as christians being adopted Jews and living like Jews who trust in Jesus as their Lord and God manifested in flesh!one love

Say, from an article or from a book - anything that has been proofread by people paid to know correct word usage?
evangelist Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I wonder does Muslim and JW's all heard this teaching about the mormon exalted man to almighty Jehovah God??one love

Say, from an article or from a book - anything that has been proofread by people paid to know correct word usage? Why should I peruse millions of texts? You haven't countered you just want to sit back and let someone else do the work? Feel free to go out and show me why it cannot be used. Why using it is against some grammatical rule, or perhaps why it is illogical. I think I have defended the position well, yours seems to be some vapid response.

Jeff K. Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I wonder does Muslim and JW's all heard this teaching about the mormon exalted man to almighty Jehovah God??one loveMy Muslim friends do indeed know the doctrine I follow. They do not agree with it, but they respect some of the commonalities shared and I have yet to see them put the religion down. They appreciate the fact that I will share my beliefs without attempting to undermine theirs. Some evangelists could learn a great deal about Christ like behavior from Muslims.
evangelist Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I wish a mormon could make this claim in public on tv and radio world wide!Even a unbeliever would have a problem with this.one love

I'm just insisting that words have real meanings. We don't get to invent our own to suit our arguments.

Jeff K. Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 No since Germany wanted to extend itself into the Slavic empire, their racial group was the minority, the elite those meant to rule over others. And they singled almost everyone else out.You are left with dithering word games and constantly retreating. Small minds dwell on small things.
