To the former, we could point you to numerous apologetic (LDS and otherwise) responses. To the latter, it probably asks for a more theological response on the same level as the other questions posed.I was extending the list that was made about the Book of Mormon teachings that contradict Biblical interpritations; like limited atonement, pasifism, etc.

And it's certainly not new. I think I've addressed Cinepro on it before. It's a favorite anti-Mormon argument to counter the Book of Mormon explanation about plural marriage being to raise up seed.As prophet of the Restoration, Joseph had the role of receiving the command from the Lord to re-institute the practice of plural marriage (temporarily, as it turned out) and to set the example by living it himself. Joseph was cut down by assassins in the prime of life. There is little doubt that had his enemies' actions been foiled and he had been allowed to go west with the Saints, his progeny from his plural marriages would have been prolific, perhaps as much so as those of Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball, or other Church leaders.
Scott Lloyd Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 This is the key to your argument. Do you have any evidence indicating devote 19th century women outnumber devote 19th century men? This certainly appears to be the case today I have not seen any data indicating this holds true for 19th century Utah. Do you have any evidence that they didn't? For raw census figures to have any bearing in the discussion, you would have to first make that case.
