Here are people who killed and received repentence, but were they actually murderers?And their children, raised in the gospel with the benefit of their example and wisdom, saw no difficulty in killing in war.The Anti-Nephi-Lehies described their killing as "murders" (Alma 24). Just to clarify that was their description of their sins as opposed to my description of their sins.We can't really know for sure from the BOM's description but it may be that these people made a distinction because as Lamanites they waged wars of aggression while as Nephites, their sons waged a defensive war.I suppose for this example to really fit a discussion of capital punishment, we have to decide if capital punishment is a defensive or aggressive act.
