Popular Post Tacenda Posted September 10, 2025 Popular Post Posted September 10, 2025 I recently heard about this while listening to a podcast with Greg Prince. I've yet to begin listening, but I guess it was geared toward people like myself, so I guess I'll give it a shot. Anyone else listen? Or have you heard about it? It feels very contradictory when you see the guests. On one side the ex'd or ex LDS and the other side those that defend the faith but at the same time acknowledge the issues and still keep the faith. I think this will help people, it sure would have helped me several years ago, my how the time sped up so fast. Feels like yesterday, still holding it all in for the most part except on this board, thanks to all of you who've put up with me. 5
Popular Post MrShorty Posted September 10, 2025 Popular Post Posted September 10, 2025 I liked it. I've also seen commentary by those involved in the project (in particular Jim Bennett). Most of what I saw from the series was a chance to address some of the hard issues in a way that is neutral to somewhat positive towards staying in the church. The producers say that they have no interest in convincing people to stay or leave, but there also seems to be a slant towards seeing how people who choose to stay deal with these issues. One of the most interesting and compelling cases that was highlighted was John Gustav-Wrathall who was excommunicated years ago, married a man, then felt something (the Spirit) prompting him to come back to the church, but not to separate from his partner. Because he won't separate, he can't be rebaptized, but he participates to the extent that church policies and his leadership will allow, and finds meaning in that. 5

Thanks for your input, I always like what you say. The story of John Gustav-Wrathall sounds an awful lot like the brother of D. Todd Christofferson, which is Tom. I thought I heard he began dating again. I think Tom is still active and holds callings, not sure. 1

It would be hard to be on a team and never have the coach put me in the game. There would have to be a love for religion and an abiding faith to carry that out. Impressive. 4
