Wedding gifts….especially cash

This past Saturday, two neighbor girls (around 8 years of age) rang our doorbell and pitched home baked chocolate chip cookies and blackberry lemonade.  I told them I would purchase both, so I left them while I went to fetch my wallet.  I always carry cash, but I discovered that somehow/somewhere I had emptied the cash from my wallet.  I reported to the girls that I would need to run to the bank, so if they still had any goods left when I got back, I would become a customer.  It shocked me when both of them chimed in:  “We also take Venmo” simultaneously flipping up a sign that had one of their mother’s email address written very legibly on it.  It made me laugh that 8-yr old’s know more about this technology than I do!  I was so impressed, I doubled my order.
