Also, why not allow people to serve more than one proselytizing mission if they have the money to, if they desire to, and if they have no conflicting obligations to any children/family? Since cutoffs were popular in the early 70s, I'd most are 40+ years of age. I'm not sure which missions allowed them as part of the everyday dress code. 2
