New Agey Stuff

Recommended Posts

I know a lot of church members, especially women, are into new agey stuff. The Church even had to issue a statement warning against practices. On Youtube I saw some evangelicals harp on Saints for being into that stuff. But then they go overboard, and then they're like, you can't do Reiki, Yoga, and meditation either.

There's no empirical support for Reiki working, but it's hardly satanic. Furthermore, I love meditating in the morning before I read my scriptures. I do it before reading scriptures so I can concentrate on the scriptures better when I read.

Women seem to be blessed with gifts of wisdom (God sanctioned divination), there is a stern case to avoid summoning random spirits at risk of inviting wicked spirits, but I have mixed feelings about tarot, I see it as kin to Biblical divination like casting lots but I'm still too chicken to try my hand at it.

Meditation, pushing thoughts out until enlightenment comes, seems to be as effective as Prayer, concentrating on a thought until enlightenment comes, in activating the 'God Center' of the brain. Meditation while chanting mantras may seem unsettling to witness since its a foreign language, but it's not a spell. Just helping you enter meditation or it's a principle or mystery you are focusing on.

When I meditate I just focus on my breathing. I'm not even trying to induce a mystical experience.

But I know even the former "Mormon Channel" had an instruction audio where a woman teaches you to meditate on Christ.
