It's also interesting to realize that Joseph's inclusion of those particular hieroglyphs might well be the result of a process of inspiration similar to that of Mormon including the small plates, rolling out right in front of our eyes. Well, perhaps Vogel thinks that Joseph had a dual personality -- simultaneously recognizing and not recognizing the source of his "translation." Not a very wise con man.
