This is kinda funny.... it seems like I am almost as fundamentalist as you, and you are almost as liberal as me.  I'm sitting here grinning from ear to ear at how much common ground we have.

My reply to D&C 76:112 is this:  Once a person has progressed to the point where they are no longer a Telestial being, they are no longer subject to the barriers that Telestial beings are.  It is my opinion that, at some point, the lower kingdoms will become empty, their inhabitants having outgrown them, and our Father not being a bearer of grudges.

My reply to this is:

"What did Jesus Christ do? The same thing as I se ethe Father do, see the father do what, work out a kingdom, when I do so to I will give to the father which will add to his glory, hewill take a Higher exaltation & I will take his place and am also exalted."  - Joseph Smith
D&C 130:10 Then the white stone mentioned in Revelation 2:17, will become a Urim and Thummim to each individual who receives one, whereby things pertaining to a higher order of kingdoms will be made known;

Not an issue of grudges.  But perhaps by the time some of us manage to come up to a Celestial exaltation, our Father will no longer be there, having moved on to bigger and better kingdoms.
But I agree with you about lower kingdoms continuing to progress eternally and potentially become Celestial.
