I sincerely apologize. In retrospect I was snarky, I misinterpreted your CFR as a snarky unnecessary effort on your part to undermine by credibility particularly when I answered your CFR with an easy to understand example yet you still brushed it off as just my opinion.  The math does not lie, those are the odds of evolution not being true...its the equivalent of 2 blind men being sent out from opposite sides of the earth in search of a single grain of sand from all the beaches and deserts scattered throughout the world and them picking the same exact grain of sand.  ( no I don't have a CFR for that example) but it's similar odds. That's how strong the odds are in favor of evolution.

So I again apologize, hold me accountable for my claims, but also respect me when I respond and answer your CFR's. Give me the courtesy that I respect truth too much to just try and slip an unfounded lie into a discussion...  And if you disagree with me fine but don't brush facts off as just my opinion

cheers

Apology accepted.  I do not believe Evolution has been proven...I have seen arguments on both sides.  But, I do believe we have, to some extent, evolved.  I do not discount your opinion, or the math behind it.  My request for info was sincere.

Why are you so afraid to just accept it?  It has been proven, it's accepted science  it's the foundation by which all ( not some but all) biology is built.  take evolution away and it all falls apart. Earlier in this thread I gave you Link's to 2 excellent books...I challenge anyone with an open mind to read those books and walk away not acknowledging the reality of evolution...yes the kind that confirms that humans and chimpanzees evolved from a common ancestor.

Edit to add: The odds of evolution being true are overwhelmingly in favor of it being true. The only way you can explain it away is through ignorance and ignoring the facts.

Not afraid at all.  I have no doubt you came from a monkey :)

Seriously, as I stated, I have seen science and articles on both sides of the issue.  It is called "The Theory of Evolution"...not the "Fact".

Also, as I have stated previously, science has been disproven and updated constantly.

Finally, I simply do not care.  It does not change my belief in Heavenly Father one way or another.

I respect your opinion about the theory.  I appreciate what you have posted.

It's also called the theory of gravity...yet I'm guessing you accept it as fact. Oh and btw referring to something as a theory does not mean it's not settled science. And for what it's worth I too have no doubt that you too decended not from a monkey but a common shared ancestor of both humans and chimpanzees...it's true embrace it, accept it but only if you have a love for truth.

Incorrect. Science is the study of facts. The explanation of that fact is a scientific theory. A scientific theory is simply the best explanation we have so far for any given observation. IE; Our sun is a fact. The explanation of that fact is that our sun thermonulearly combines Hydrogen to make Helium.

Science is the study of evidences. Like observing the Sun.

I refuse to accept the implicit terms you offer that it's evolution and nothing else. A type of evolution which makes a literal interpretation on the God's creation as outlined in the Bible and other modern-day scriptural references impossible. Erogo, science "proves" that there was no first male human and first female human by which all of humanity was generated.

Again I have no problem with anyone, even you, believing anything they want. IE; 1/4 Adult American's believe the sun revolves around the earth because of very real personal experiences. However that belief is simply wrong on a factual basis. I'm not telling you to have a different opinion. Just don't posit your opinion onto a scientific fact. I make no effort to make you look ignorant. :P

I'm not saying it's scientific fact, I'm also not ignorant enough to believe that the Sun revolves around the Earth. What type of personal experience are you talking about anyway? Have they been out in space to see it? Has God shown them that this is true? It is not by personal experience that they believe that the Sun revolves around the Earth, but conjecture based on a limited view. I have experienced things that you have obviously not yet experienced. Truth isn't always what science says it is, because it is fallible since not all facts are in, or even understood yet. This is why theories change, or are even replaced, as new data comes in or is understood in a better light. Science hasn't been able to study spirit, and can't prove that spirit exists, or disprove it either.

I am not merely conjecturing, but actually have experienced things beyond mere belief, that aren't able to be proven scientifically at the moment. Hence I am not saying anything is scientific fact. What I am saying is that there is truth regardless of what people believe, as evidenced in your 1/4 American adults believe falsehoods about the mechanics of the solar system, but it still won't change the truth that the Earth is revolving around the Sun. Stop insulting things you don't understand and just agree to disagree already, without playing me off as ignorant in order to make yourself feel good about trusting science with such blind faith that it is the whole truth, and anything else isn't truth, justifying your disbelief in God because His existence isn't proven.

Actually science does prove that there was no common Adam and Eve as a common ancestor for all humanity...its a creation myth proven by science.  But you're welcome to hold to your cherished beliefs that conflict with science.

Nothing in science is proven. The best we can do is to disprove a particular theory. For the last some 150 years the Theory of Evolution has yet to be disproved.

You obviously know nothing about my experiences. I've been a faithful, believing, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the last 45 years. I still can't posit God onto science. Doing so makes hash of both.

Nice to see two supporters of evolution can't agree any more than two creationists.
