Before Jesus came, what constituted 'a saving knowledge of the truth' to the Old Testament Israelites? Since the Jews never lost their Old Testament scriptures, how can you say they were largely sinning in ignorance? Are you saying all Jews across all Palestine were destroyed in AD 70 or just those in Jerusalem? The Book of Mormon has about 16 (I think) cities being destroyed. Why did those people in all those cities endure more wrath than those in Jerusalem? Thanks, Jiim I guess you don't realize the Roman destruction of the country of Judaea commenced in the year 66 AD (4 years before the siege of Jerusalem), with the destruction and total tyrannical subjugation of all the cities, towns and villages of the Holy Land -- the lone exception being Jerusalem. The final destruction of the Jews came with the fall of the capital city of Jerusalem. but this did not occur until the climax of the war. Read the Lord's many critiques of the Jewish religion and its leaders to learn if that religion had the power to save anyone at that point in time.
