Should the Honor Code trump a Rape?

When I attended BYU it was pretty much understood that the Honor Code applied to everyone except student athletes aka Jim McMahon who were held to a more gentile standard.  But I believe that pendulum has swung. Now even the smallest infraction can result in expulsion irrespective of who you are right?

In a recent trib article, a rape victim is facing school honor code discipline for reporting being raped.  You see, she was raped in her bedroom with a man she allowed in her room...a violation of the honor code...and now faces being kicked out of school. The honor code enforcers must hold her accountable right?  Or have they really lost perspective?

i respect BYUs right to a standard and we also know that student do sign the honor code as a condition of attaining their education but has the Y gone too far?

To be especially clear, the student would be facing discipline for having a man in her room after curfew.  The fact that she got raped has nothing to do with the discipline, other than it being a catalyst for the University discovering the lesser infraction.

I've expressed my feelings elsewhere, but perhaps a crafty student could report the rape as having occurred in another place (say, an empty living room).  Then, at least, if the man protests that it actually happened in the bedroom that takes care of the larger concern.
