Yom Kippur (Day Of Atonement)

Recommended Posts

Leviticus 16:29(1)> And this shall be a statute for ever unto you; that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you;

Leviticus 23:27(1)> Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement; it shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

May your day be afflicted as you contemplate your sins, but also may your souls rejoice in reflecting on Jesus who made atonement for those sins, and offers you forgiveness. May your names be inscribed into the Lamb's Book of Life.

For any whom I may have offended here, I do offer my sincerest apologies. I will try to be more patient and kind in our discussions. Please, feel free to message me anytime you feel I have stepped out of line into contention.

Also, I release, with forgiveness any whom I have had hard feelings towards. May your life's journeys be aided by the assistance of the Spirit and of angels.

Your friend and brother,

Chris Humphrey

Thank you, Chris.  Nice thoughts.

How interesting that 10 Tishrei (Yom Kippur) occurred this year on the evening of Sept 22 until the evening of Sept 23.  Back in 1827, of course, Joseph took the Book of Mormon plates from that hill near Manchester, NY, at midnite Sept 22 = 1 Tishrei (Rosh HaShana), promptly hid them in a hollow log, and came back for them ten days later on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year.
