Another Major Problem With The Heartland Theory

Fair just released a video that answers Meldrum's claim that Zarahemla is in Iowa but then begins to show a fatal flaw with the Heartland theory. The video applies several components of the Heartland theory to a map and shows that the theory contradicts and actually destroys itself. Meldrum has built a theory on a couple of points but when you try to fit it altogether it only falls apart.

The premise of the video is that from the land of Nephi to the south to the land Northward to the north, The Book of Mormon had the Sea East to the east and the Sea West to the west. Meldrum places the Sea East and the Sea West as 2-3 of the Great Lakes. This means that he must place the entire Book of Mormon events between the Great Lakes and exclude anything south of them. There are a few ramifications of doing this.

1- This means that most of the BOM is now in Canada, not the US as Heartlanders like to promote

2- Since this area is also his Narrow Neck of land that means he must also place the entire BOM into the Narrow Neck of land excluding a land Northward and a land Southward

3- This excludes his river Sidon as the Mississippi River

4- The number of Indians in that area during the time period of The Book of Mormon are so scarce that the entire population would not even fill a small Nephite city.

5- This excludes any area, outside of this very small area, that he has previously correlated with The BOM (Zarahemla, Manti, River Sidon, land of First Inheritance, etc...)

6- This places Cumorah to the South-East of BOM lands, not the north

and most every other claim he has made is now south of BOM lands.

about 4 or 5 years ago I attended a FIRM Foundation Conference as a request from a family member who just wanted me to see what Meldrum had to say and part of it was dedicated to finding the temple layout for a temple that was in Zarahemla IA.  Obviously to me ( I am a two Cumorah person) I didn't agree with 99% of the conference but this was way off the deepend to me.  This video does a great job in showing that the settlement had existed well before the revelation in D&C and that it had nothing to do with revealing BOM lands.  Great stuff!  Keep it coming!
