Actually, this is just an example of the Church hiding Adam-God. The original line as penned by the author was "Rise, the eternal father greet"not, "Rise, the ancient father greet." Church changed it after Adam-God was denounced. (Just one of several hymns that got the correlation edit at some point).

I do not know any LDS who does not know and believe that Michael was/is Adam. The question is who was/is Michal before he was ordained an Adam.
VideoGameJunkie Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Jeanne, why do you think Brigham Young was scary? It's the beard isn't it? But ya, I can see how some people can view him as very direct and blunt.

VideoGameJunkie Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 The only prophet that scared me was Spencer W Kimball and that was because of his book Miracle of Forgiveness. 1

The question is who was/is Michal before he was ordained an Adam.Oh, the words to the Hymn hint at bowing down to him. I thought some here might think that would be worshiping him as God. Heaven forbid! There can't be more than one God in the heavens! Aaiiieeee!!/sarcasm Edited September 3, 2014 by Tiki
ERayR Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Heaven forbid! There can't be more than one God in the heavens! Aaiiieeee!!/sarcasm This is certainly not correct in Mormon theology.
