nosmelone Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 So I somehow missed this article at archaeology.org but it appears that the Joseph Smith sr. and Lucy Mack home or cabin in Nauvoo, IL recently had some excavations done to it. Unfortunatly the article doesn't say what research group was hoping to find (gold plates perhaps? lol) but it is interesting to see this happening. It looks like the did find a few insignificant items and some prehistoric pottery and weapons. Here's the link to the short article. I tried to access the link to the Quincy-Herald-Whig but apprently you have to be a subscriber to access that article. Does anyone have any additional information on this dig? http://www.archaeology.org/news/2237-140617-illinois-joseph-smith
