That's like saying that the date of the Gettysburg address is somehow relevant to our salvation. That SOMETHING happened is essential- Christ somehow took us from our fallen state but exactly when and how is not important.

No, the women and children are not.

And the devote men I've worked with were in many ways very nice, honest, and honorable.

I would have trusted most of them more than most Americans where I was living at the time, but the interesting thing is that even they had a virulent hatred for Jews, and referred to suicide bombers as martyrs.

I remember when a news broadcast came over the T.V. or Radio at the place where I worked (not sure whether it was a T.V. or Radio because I wan't in the kitchen) concerning a suicide bombing on a bus in Israel (before 911), and they said something like "peace be upon the martyrs."

These were good, honest, hardworking (and usually very nice people), and I have to believe that this moral blind spot had something to do with their religion.

BTW: The first time I heard about that Hadith was when they tried to convert me.

From the perspective of an old woman who had suddenly found herself completely alone, Islam came as a rescue to me. I have fond memories of part of it, but am very well aware of the dark side.

From their point of view, the Jews occupied their land suddenly and were not nice about it. And from the Jewish perspective, I assume there was a lot of PTSD in operation after being nearly wiped out by the Germans in WWII. Interestingly, there are many common practices between the two faiths. I also think there is a bit of little brother complex in operation here because the Jews just moved in, feeling they had a right to the land, thanks to the Zionists, and did not even say thank you. And then, of course there is the curse of Ishmael in operation, that I do not understand. Very respectfully, I do not understand why Heavenly Father would curse a whole race that way ????

It was always chilling to me when the Muslims referred to the bombers as "The Fighters", yet they would be very friendly to me. I still have very romantic ideas about being married to a faithful Muslim man. How would I convince him about Mormons? Is this dream or nightmare?

More likely culture.

Not all Muslims respond that way in my experience. It has a great deal to do with where they were brought up and what sect of Islam they belong to. Just as there have been more violent oriented sects of Christianity and more peaceful ones, so it is with Islam.

I have a Muslim doctor, and I doubt he would do that, so maybe it has something to do with culture, country of origin, and educational level, but the culture of the countries of the people I worked with (Morocco, Egypt, and Libya) was highly influenced by Islam, and I have to believe their religion had something to do with their attitude toward the Jews.

Have you read this Hadith?

Isn't any Muslim who converts to any other faith under a death sentence?

And wouldn't you, and/or your husband have to be willing to accept the possibility of being killed like that off duty soldier in London) if you converted?

Nope. At least you are starting to understand me. It's no more important than how we got the Book of Abraham.

But which IS true is unknowable, historically.

So I guess the only option, according to you, is to be an atheist, right?

Either you can know historically or you can know spiritually. Make your choice.
