According to some, the Crusades started because the Ottoman Turks cut off access to Jerusalem to all but Muslims. So, they were fighting over the Holy Land.Isn't there some thought that the Holy Land is in our hearts? What about Matt 10:7?

williamsmith Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Were The Christian Crusades Christian.I think various actions war related and otherwise were very much so non-christian whether of a political or religious nature.I think that within "some" of those events including the Crusades there was "reasonable" response and good done.Personally I think there was far too much bad done in Catholic history. But I respect all good no matter where it comes.I don't think the Crusades (unlike what the atheists do) can be painted to have been simply "bad". A great deal of it was in response to bad.

While that proves nothing about my knowledge and little about my character, it did fuel my interest in things like the Robin Hood legends and the Crusades. One thing that's clear to me is that my Uncle Richard Lionheart was at least in large part motivated by the opportunities for plunder and conquest. 2

Who owns what land is more of a political issue to me even when it has religious significance.There were many who involved in the Crusades that were there for religious purposes, including to save their own soul.

I wonder what happened.I've noticed some other strange things but thought it was some new advertising strategy. Lots of word are underlined like they are a link and the link takes me to ads. Is this just happening to me?

I learned valuable things in Islam that I will never forget, but for me LDS ( Christianity 1.0) is best.

One way to funnel this aggression was to send the population to literally another continent. The resultant action was nothing less than evil and all of this to Deus vult and Inshallah (God wills it and God willing). 1
