MormonMason offered an interesting example of the potential humorous consequences of "green" LDS missionaries attempting to express themselves in a language they have not yet mastered. Any other examples?

(It just occurred to me that there is a high probability this topic may have already been covered here. If it has, my apologies.)

I'll offer one of my own:

In German (Germany Hamburg Mission here), the word for "doubt" it Zweifel--the word for "onion" is Zwiebel. I heard--with my own two ears--a companion bear testimony that he knew "without an Onion, that the BoM is true."

Well, I once told a French elders quorum that it was required that the records of the Lord should be put in "ordure" (the garbage), the correct word was "ordre" (order).

As a current Ward Clerk, I would have resembled that remark.
