CA Steve Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 (edited) My inlaws received a gift of a blue collectable plate with a picture of the Nauvoo temple in the center of the plate.. Around the perimeter of the plate are a series of names, one of which is George Miller. Below the name George Miller are the initials P.H.Q.What do the initials stand for? Here is a link to the plate. (I am sorry I was unable to load it as a picture.)http://4.bp.blogspot...-h/100_1829.JPG Edited February 28, 2013 by CA Steve
Nevo Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 What do the initials stand for?I'm guessing "President of High Priests Quorum" since he was sustained to that position on 7 October 1844.
Saints Alive Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I believe Nevo is correct. Interesting Newel K Whitney is listed as P.A.P. or President of the Aronic Priesthood I presume.
chochmah Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 For some time the president of the Church has also served as the president of the High Priests in the Church. This was not always so. Angus Cannon the brother of George Q. was the president of the center stake (before that status was ended in 1877) and also held the title of President of the High Priests in the Church at the end of Brigham Young's life.
