I'm starting a comparative study of three (3) apocalyptic writings: The Revelation, The Shepherd of Hermas and Apocalypse of Peter. I am curious as to what comparative conclusions others who have studied these writings come to. I'm not concerned with what is traditionally considered authoritative but more an analysis of what each writing has to say and what the details say about each other and other NT canonical writings.

Anyone got some advice or things to consider as I study?

Cool stuff. One thing you could start with is comparing the modes of revelation in each.

It can be as simple as asking the question who (or what) is the one revealing the knowledge. You can go from there into when the knowledge is revealed, what form it takes, etc.
