inquiringmind Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 (edited) Many if not most of our dreams come from our subconscious. We mostly are unaware of what has triggered them. I myself have had dreams that started off beautifuly, but evolved into a nightmares. I don't think that they were inspired by the Lord or altered by Satan, but were a product of my own insecurities. However, I found that bad dreams can be "corrected". My wife used to have nightmares about her former husband. She would be dreaming happily about her current state (with which she seems pretty content) but then her former husband would enter the dream and shatter that happiness. Our therapist outlined how she could convince herself that all was going to turn out right and that her former husband was "going to get his", then go back to sleep with that in mind. It usually worked, sometimes with pretty funny results, in the dream, that is.GlennThank you.I asked my bishop, and he said pretty much the same thing. Edited August 27, 2012 by inquiringmind
cursor Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 (edited) Dreams are simply (no ... complexly) a combination of your conscious and subconscious thoughts being tossed about in a mixing bowl while your body and brain rests from intentional work.Prophets dream. You dream.I dream.Children dream._Violent people dream. My cat dreams. What anyone gets from or learns from their dreams (or the personal interpretation of their dreams) is entirely subject to how they think and how they interpret. ANACO Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 (edited) As Scrooge said to Marley's ghost:‘You don’ t believe in me observed,’ the Ghost.‘I don't,’ said Scrooge.‘What evidence would you have of my reality beyond that of your own senses?’‘I don t know,’ said Scrooge.‘Why do you doubt your senses?’‘Because,’ said Scrooge, ‘a little thing affects them. A slight disorder of the stomach makes them cheats. You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of an underdone potato. There's more of gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are.’Check your diet. :/ Edited August 27, 2012 by ANACO
