The show 'The Current' is where they do the interview. It is on from 830am - 10am. The interview is somewhere inside the 9am-10am timeframe.It plays at the same time in each timezone. I have not listened yet as I just saw it as the cover story for today. Might be of interest to some of y'all.

There is an interview with Helen Radkey, Bernie Farber (Canadian Jewish Congress), and Dennis Brimhall (Managing Director of the LDS church family history centre).It is interesting how Mr. Farber approaches the idea of baptism for the dead. I'm not sure he understands the practice as it is, or if he has his own concept. These are not exact quotes because I'm not a fast transcriber. I did try mostly to pickup the key words. He calls the practice 'ghoulish', asserts that we 'scour' lists of holocaust victims in order to force on them baptism (I presume that list is the one the LDS church has entered as off limits in the genealogy database). It's like 'pouring acid on their soul' and it's an 'insulting effrontery'. 'Over the years the jews have always been the victims of those who want to evangelize us'. 'The kind of trickery and subterfuge that is used is sickening.' He says that in the practice are the seeds of anti-semitism and that there always exists an anti-semitic trope to deny Judaism. Baptisms for the dead are a denial of Judaism.Helen Radkey mentions she cannot talk about Daniel Pearl, who has had a baptism performed in his behalf, because the Boston Globe is going to 'break' the story on Wednesday. She continues to get access to the membership database on newfamilysearch from confidential Mormon sources. The most interesting comment of hers was that newfamilysearch is essentially a private database for Mormon posthumous ordinances that can alternately be used as a genealogical database. It is a spin I have not head before. The interviewer asks her if she is paid for the research and she says there was a false report circulated and that she receives no pay for the Wiesenthal Centre.I have not seen an accusation that she was paid by the Wiesenthal Centre for her research. The Washington Post reported that she had been paid by other American Jewish groups for her work.Dennis Brimhall does not come acress as a very good spokesperson on the radio. Buzzard Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 It might not be great PR, but it's past time to trespass Ms. Radkey from the Family History Libraries of the church. And it would be childs play to identify the IP address she uses from her home computer and block it. This might not stop her, but it would make her rubbish digging more difficult. This woman has said her lifes work is to destroy the church. Of course, she won't succeed, but I don't see any reason to assist her mania by holding the door for her while she leaves muddy footprints all over the carpet. By stating that she uses signons of church members, she admits to fraud and is in violation of the terms of use for the churches database.
