Bill “Papa” Lee Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Having read a number of threads concerning Mormons and Christmas, and having been introduced for the first time to the term Smithmas”. I found this story in a newspaper article and then Googled it to find out more. You can see and point to the “Mormon Church” and “The Catholic Church”, other denominations can be a bit more elusive, each say “lo here”.In the article and the video I link below…is this type of thing what the restoration was supposed to stop, by having “one Lord, one Faith and one Baptism”?http://www.ottawacitizen.com/life/Holy+Nativity+Clergy+brawl+Bethlehem+church+cleanup/5921375/story.htmlhttps://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&channel=s&hl=en&source=hp&biw=1280&bih=854&q=clergy+fighting+at+church+of+the+nativity+&btnG=Google+Search&oq=clergy+fighting+at+church+of+the+nativity+&aq=f&aqi=&aql=1&gs_sm=s&gs_upl=1425l19855l0l22055l44l44l2l33l35l0l206l1265l2.5.2l9l0#q=clergy+fighting+at+church+of+the+nativity&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=hPJ&sa=G&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=s&prmd=imvnsu&source=univ&tbm=nws&tbo=u&ei=to38Tu3FG8q7tweM7_XPBg&ved=0CDQQqAI&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=4d2706869ddb790e&biw=1280&bih=854It is not my intent to belittle here, I was just awe struck at what I saw.
orion88 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 It was embarassing to watch them brawl. But even if they did not come to blows, the angerin their hearts was still a sign of their sinful nature.Even in our respective churches we have those who walk in the flesh and not in the Spirit. This will change when Christ returns and performs the restoration.
blooit Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Those palestinian guard didn't pull any punches either - whacking with batons and everything.
volgadon Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Those palestinian guard didn't pull any punches either - whacking with batons and everything.Only way to break them up. In past years it even got to the point where a Greek monk went Mike Tyson on a Catholic monk, biting his ear off.
volgadon Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Here, BTW, is an interesting account of the fighting in the 1850s. http://books.google.com/books?id=c7k2AAAAMAAJ&pg=PA232&dq=wailing+wall&hl=en&sa=X&ei=9iP9TvqUIcioiQLaiKi4Dg&ved=0CGoQ6AEwCA#v=onepage&q=holy%20fire&f=false
altersteve Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 This will change when Christ returns and performs the restoration. The restoration of what?
orion88 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Christ will return and restore man's relationship with God ... like Adam and Eveexperienced in the Garden of Eden. This was lost due to the Fall. 1
altersteve Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Christ will return and restore man's relationship with God ... like Adam and Eveexperienced in the Garden of Eden. This was lost due to the Fall.Hasn't He restored this relationship with each of us individually when we accept Him as our Savior?
orion88 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Hasn't He restored this relationship with each of us individually when we accept Him as our Savior?I agree with your statement but I feel it will be ideal when we are living in his presencelike Adam and Eve did. Paul made a similar sounding statement in 2 Corinthians 5:6-8when he wanted to be absent from the body [i'll assume his mortal one] and be presentwith the Lord.
Bill “Papa” Lee Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 Hasn't He restored this relationship with each of us individually when we accept Him as our Savior?I thought so...BTW what will be different then; in us?
