2011 Sperry "The Things My Father Saw"

Hello Friends, I wanted to make sure attention was brought to the forthcoming Sperry Symposium held this weekend at BYU. Presentations will be given this Friday and Saturday on the topic "Approaches to Lehi's Dream and Nephi's Vision."

Here is the link

As a shameless self-promoting plug, though not on the printed program, I'll be presenting on ancient temple imagery in Nephi's vision on Friday night from 7:30 to 8:20 PM. Also not to be missed is Mark Wright's presentation immediately following, where as I understand it, Dr. Wright will present a methodology for comparative analysis in Book of Mormon studies, or something like that.

So if I go can you manage to make it a combo symposium/birthday party so my family won't get ticked off with me...if it's my party, I should be able to choose the venue after all. No clowns needed, but a few balloons for the grandkids would be helpful.

Absolutely! In fact, I'd be happy to bring along some scary Halloween clowns to my presentation, notta problem!

I'll probably be there. Where on campus will you be presenting?

I'm not sure. I'll find out and post. My paper was originally accepted last year, but they asked for a couple of changes prior to publication that I simply didn't have time to make, so my paper does not appear in the book and I was added to the program to present at the last minute.

Thanks for your interest.

Best,
