Messenger Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Before the topic goes way off base, lets reign this in a bit. In my opinion, its hard enough for people to have diabetes, let alone someone on a keyboard in a strange state of mind giving medial advice on something they know nothing about. Please, drop the years of tradition on the tip of your tongue, you actually DONT have any idea what you are talking about. YOU do not know better than a doctor and the D&C. Yes, Satan is clever indeed. Humanity is so funny sometimes I have yell out with a big belly laugh and call it when I see it.The answer to the OP is simple, talk to your doctor. My doctor says no. Further I have direct experience with fasting and having diabetes, and its NOT a good thing. There is a point when someone that is beginning to have diabetes, that they must wrestle with this. I would simply let you search the scriptures and talks regarding people that have these types of circumstances. Part of life is knowing how to control your own body, with diet and exercise. Nobody has a better handle on this, than a person that has Diabetes under control. Isn't that the point of fasting anyways?People don't need to feel guilty for not fasting that are sick, or that have a doctor's recommendation not to fast. Those that say otherwise are spiritually misinformed.

Certainly with Diabetes or other illnesses, the Lord would not expect you to indanger your existance over something such as fasting. Wouldn't that be like disallowing a Claustrophobic baptism because he or she couldn't do it in the Font as apposed to a lake, river or pond?
