I'm really getting tired of these sorts of replies. I am not arguing that any doctrine that CLAIMS to be based on the Bible is ipso facto true. What I have clearly and repeatedly said is that any doctrine that is solidly and well founded on the teachings of the Bible is true. Obviously, if a doctrine is based on misinterpretations of the Bible, it is based on a faulty foundation.

We would not be having this discussion if I were a Mormon and I were asserting, let's say, that a particular doctrine is true because it is clearly taught in D&C. The objections that you and others here are making to my position betray a double standard.

There's a difference between something which is clearly taught IN the Bible and somethihg which is BASED on a teaching in the Bible, just like there's a difference between a teaching IN the D&C and one that is BASED on the D&C.

It's kinda like some of those movies which claim to be based on true events and yet contain elements which are not true.

Sometimes they add things which are true, when inspired by the Holy Ghost who can reveal what is true, but sometimes they start with something true and add things which aren't true just because they're trying to fill in some blanks.
