We could play juvenile games, or you could try answering why the Maximilian Adventure isn't a fulfilment of land prophecy which fits a limited geograpjical model in Mesoamerica.

I guess that rules out NY and Jersey. I also have the sneaking suspicion that my point about the Maximilian Adventure went over your head.

Hahaha, pooned. that was good.

Explain how it speaks to fulfilled land prophecies counselor, I've demonstrated that it has no bearing whatsoever.

Conclusion

The First Presidency's secretary apparently answered a question according to his own understanding, and then at the direction of the First Presidency later clarified/corrected his statement to indicate that while many Latter-day Saints have expressed opinions about the location of Cumorah (or other Book of Mormon geography issues), the Church has no official geography. No revelatory basis exists for any geographical scheme outside of the Book of Mormon text itself.

I agree, the letter says one thing and the Church does another - both in the past and in the present.

I suggest:

<a>The first church history be reprinted in the Ensign

<b>A moratorium on Mesoamerican props for all published materials.

Yes, peace and prosperity could only be found on BoM lands.

From reading your post it appears you subscribe to the Heartland/Great Lakes model and posit that none of the events of the Book of Mormon happened in Mesoamerica. Is that correct?

It also appears that you are saying that only lands that have had peace and prosperity can be the "BoM lands." Is this correct?

If this is so, I have a few critical questions;

Do you only use the quotes that support this theory and throw out those that oppose this view?

What of the quotes from General Authorities that have supported a Mesoamerican connection?

What archaeological evidence do you think supports your view?

Why do you feel that evidence is stronger than the evidences for Mesoamerica?

I have many other questions but I would like to see your response before I dwell into others, IOW I would like to see if this thread merits the attention it deserves.

I do not view that as an answer, but just another wild accusation and exaggeration.

Really? EVERY one? CFR...

Keep making wild exaggerations and I'll just keep CFR-ing you to death.

Agreed! It's wild how clear it was up until...well, it wasn't enough.

Oh I see, you only want a moratorium on mesomaerican props because it goes against your world view.

Should it not tell you something that the church does not do that?

Equal expense (of time and money) using other props would go a long way to substantiate its current position of neutrality.

My world view respects past statements by church prophets, and the first official church history, does yours?

Just an FYI, the pageants are funded by the church but there is only one commissioned by the church; which is the Nauvoo Pageant. All the others were started on Ward or Stake levels written by local members.

Nauvoo.

Before it was called the Nauvoo Pageant, the pageant was titled the City of Joseph. All pageants up to that point originated from local interest and written by local members. The funding to produce these pageants were from the church. President Hinckley's Father while a leader in the Nauvoo area, once prophesied about Nauvoo being a great place for missionary work. After the miraculous way the original blue prints of the Nauvoo Temple were found (which helped tremendously to help in building the Temple in its original design, outside, the inside is a bit different) President Hinckley organized and called a few General Authorities and other professionals (ie historians etc) to write what we now have as the Nauvoo Pageant. No other church pageant has been commissioned this way. Then after it was all done it had to be approved by President Hinckley he made a few changes. What you see now at the pageant is the finished form.

Cast performers are set apart as missionaries and are instructed that the pageant main focus is to bring people to Christ. After each performance each cast member goes into the audience to ask for referrals. This pageant fulfills President Hinckley's fathers prophecy. One example of this is after just one performance last year over 1000 referrals were collected by the cast.

Edited to say; That I would like all to invite all of you to this wonderful spiritually uplifting pageant.
