tana Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I have an acquaintance with a local couple. They have been married twenty years. The male is a quasi-closet-cross dresser. (say that three times fast) "Quasi" meaning, he half-heartily attempted to keep it secret, but I think most acquainted with him knew he wanted everybody to meet "Karen" is alter-ego. To meet "Michael" tho, without this inside knowledge, one would never know his real preferred persona, as he portrays an extreme He-man, redneck image.A few years ago he came out and announced he was going to have a sex change operation. (The opposite of the female to male, which would be an addad*cktome) He made it clear that he was not homo-sexual tho, and that he was still attracted to females. What would be the moral questions then that arise from this? He is biologically male, he still is attracted to females, even tho the female hormone therapy is altering his physiological appearance. He is legally and morally married to his only spouse and is not promiscuous. Is this going to come down to his eternal judgment being based on the sexual thoughts he has while being intimate with his wife before the sex change? (He hasn't had the operation yet)How about after the sex change?I"m really not much into debating SSM topics but thought I would throw that out there as it is more philosophical than topical. Also, I tend to lean a little right as to SSM due to my conservative upbringing, but am trying to get over it. Curt
tana Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 Is she okay with this?Well, I am fairly recently married, (about two years now) so I inherited this couple as they are my wife's friends. I've only met Karen (the alter-ego) once. She seemed nice enough. I think I actually preferred her to Michael, although her getup seemed a little over-the-top.My wife is best friends with the wife, Rhonda. Apparently girls do talk about sex when guys aren't around as Rhonda has filled my wife in on a lot more info than I need to own. Without getting into it too much, it has to do with role playing.I guess Rhonda must be OK with things as she appears to support his decision to have the sex change. I personally don't see what she sees in either one of them as Michael is a bit of a blowhard, and Karen is way out there with the makeup, wig and.....almost street-walker type outfit. I guess dressing up like a Mennonite tho wouldn't be near as much fun.
thesometimesaint Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 A sex change operation may subject a member of the Church to Church discipline.
