The gathering is not talking place right now. Zion is not established yet. Christs says in 3 Nephi 21 when the BOM comes forth it is a sign unto the Lamanites that the gathering is about to take place. Then the in versus 8-11 a prophet from the seed of Joseph will appear. Then he will cut off the Gentiles and deliver the Lamanites unto salvation. Next the seed of Joseph will build the New Jerusalem with the Gentiles assisting them. After Zion is built then the lost 10 tribes, City of Enoch and Christ will come. Then the scripture will be fulfilled saying " the first shall be last and the last shall be first. The times of the Gentiles will be at a close.
