it seems a tad bit hypocritical to make such a "sweeping judgment" of me, because I made a "sweeping judgment" of someone else.

As you have judged, so shall you be judged.

I don't see anything hypocritical about applying your own judgments to yourself.

You seem here to be endorsing the fallacy expressed in the Latin saying vox populi, vox dei. In the 19th century, a politician rationalized mob sentiment against Mormons by using that expression.

How about you? Are you prepared to assert (consistent with your logic expressed above) that a mob must be right because it has so many members?

No, Scott, I'm not suggesting the masses are correct, and I'm not suggesting BKP was correct. I'm suggesting that enough people misunderstood BKP's words to such a varied extent that it is hardly a logical position to place blame for misinterpretation on the masses. Rather, in this case, responsibility is with the speaker.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who detected the ad populum fallacy in LDSToronto's post (and in the cherished quotation from his esteemed professor).

Scott, I detect a tone here, maybe sarcasm. I think your an upstanding individual, based on your posts here, so this seems out-of-character.

So now I am self loathing homosexual? Tough crowd.

It's your own doing, because you reap what you sow.

I love everybody, including myself, so all I see is a world filled with rainbows, and the rainbow connection, and me.

What your proefessor taught was was the fallacy of ad populum. I am guessing that there was no sarcasm in his post.

Ha, that is funny.

Sorry but that is not evidence that it is BKP problem. I know several people that took no issue to it so is that evidence that he said it clearly?

When communicating something blame should never be placed soley on one person. There is always a speaker and a listener.
