Temple Weddings For Time Only?

I am trying to understand. If a person remarries civilly because the woman is sealed to her dead spouse is she in the eye's of God perhaps committing adultery since the Temple marriage does not end at death?

I don't know about other christian churches, but we've just never looked at it this way. A widow is free to remarry in this life and not be considered an adulterer. As it stands today, the assumption is that she will have to choose one husband in the eternities. But, we'll see in the eternities how these things actually end up working out.

What if the woman loves the second husband more, does she have to stay with the first Husband? just because I knew a Jerky man who died and his wife remarried and she was so much happier, but was sealed to the first.

As someone else said, there won't be any 'jerks' in heaven, so I think she's safe from an eternity tied to a jerk. :P

As I said, the assumption is that a woman who had more than one husband will have to choose, but personally, I don't know if that will actually be the case. I won't be surprised to find if men can have more than one spouse, women might have more than one husband as well. But, let me make it clear; this is a heresy where LDS are concerned--It's just my own personal opinion on the subject.

I guess you probably figure God will work it out. It just seems to get complicated. That's not even considering children sealed to divorcing parents, but then I dont see how worthy LDS children can be with their parents if they are off planning a world with their own spouse.

Yes, I expect God will work it out and I expect that you believe God wants all his children to be happy in the eternities as well. So, I don't expect him to leave any child of his in a situation that makes them miserable, though they will have to work within the parameters he allows to find their happiness, I don't expect it to be that hard.

I don't see any problem with children sealed to divorcing parents--that's only a concern in this life, not the next life. They won't be 'children' in the eternities. If their parents are broken from the chain of sealing through their choices it will be sad, but not the problem it is in this life. The sealing power is to bind lines of righteous family members.

Woah, woah, woah ... I might have to disagree about the fictitious woman being sealed to the jerky husband. If the husband was indeed jerky, he won't be sealed to anyone. Sealings only work for celestial people/couples. Nobody is going to feel bummed out or slighted or sad about who they get "stuck with" for the eternities. Of that I feel completely confident.

She is not fictitious, she was one of my Moms best friends and I listend to them talk at times. And my husband and I did some work for the jerky Husband and I grew up with their daughter and knew what he was like behind closed doors. The woman stuck it out until he died and then met a very nice man and she was very happy. I do not believe in sealings of marriage to our spouses to be with them in Heaven, but I am trying to figure out how you all work it out.

It's not we who will be working it out. The One Who does has a great deal more knowledge, and much, much more compassion.
