Understanding the Book of Mormon

Hey, has anyone ordered this, and if so, how long did it take to get yours? I'm in Canada, and it shipped July 8, and it hasn't yet arrived

Part of being a Christian, in first and second century terms,

is being a witness. That meant standing up for the

true gospel and standing up against false religion. The term

"martyr" comes from the same Greek word as witness, and carries

with it the first Christians' inflexible dedication, to suffer

even death as a consequence of their witnessing against the

cult of Caesar, against the cult of Isis, against the cult of

Mithra, against the cult of Dionysus, etc.

Modern evengelicals seem to have retained that original impetus,

whether today directed at Scientology, the Unification Church,

or even staid Roman Catholicism. You cannot expect to wash that

martyrdom/witnessing out of them -- it is part and parcel of

their entire reason for remaining upon earth, prior to the rapture.

Evangelicalism, begun around 1800, retained a trait of early Christians from 1500+ years earlier??
