selek Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 It's tremendously ironic that I of all people feel the need to say this, but a number of posters here need to either chill out or walk away from this thread. Soren- you claim to be interested in defending your own faith. Defend it- don't use that motive as a thinly disguised opportunity to shiv us. 3dop- You've been here long enough to know better- very few Latter-day Saints share NQWY's antipathy for all things Catholic. It is unfair and patently un-Christian for you to paint all Mormons with the most unfavorable brush available. Not Quite- you need to walk away. You're hostility towards Catholics is becoming extremely tiresome. That you had bad experiences and no longer agree with thier theology is no excuse for you slandering all Catholics. That sort of behavior is best reserved to the ignorant, the bigoted, and the ungodly. You're none of the above, so please act like it. As to those who snarled at Fuller, even I- he who had his sense of humor surgically removed to make room for more ego- could tell he was joking. We welcome and appreciate our Catholic posters- and only flog them when they misbehave.
Notquitewetyet Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Sorry everyone. I just will never forget the cartoons they made us watch in Catholic elementary school that showed how the "saints" of the Catholic Church spread Catholicism by aggresively attacking pagans in northern Europe such as in Ireland under "st" Patrick. And to think I once found such things edifying.
3DOP Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Hi selek.Like you, I took Fuller to be facetious and I wasn't offended by what he said. However, my response betrayed how I was feeling sorry for myself. This is a failing that I have been indulging lately and not just on the internet. Thankfully, it never achieves the desired result (pity). It is always a fault to seek pity in my opinion, but is especially unbecoming in a husband, father, and authority figure. I accept your kick in the rear and apologize for my unseemly behavior. I resolve to do better, here and elsewhere.3DOP
