The United Order Reinstated

[why me]

I think everyone who read the Book of Mormon before the end of the year when President Hinkcley asked us to, would be willing to live the United Order. I don't thinik it is the magnitude of the challenge that matters. Do you do what the prophet asks?

I don't think so. However if such a directive came from Salt Lake many American LDS would be duty bound but they would have severe misgivings. The power of private property has plagued the lds since the very beginning. For after all, the pursuit of happiness is equated with private property. To my understanding, Utah is one of more conservative states that believes in self-reliance, private property and capitalism. All are ideologically opposed to an United Order concept. How to get American mormons from a rugged individualistic capitalism into a United Order would be interesting. But members from other parts of the world would be easier to sell the concept to, especially in the more undeveloped countries.

[why me]

I don't see the UO coming back unless we are in a closed society. It could not possibly work now. We are not exempt from the Law of Consecration however, and that is still in full force.

I don't see the UO coming back unless we have a rethink of the meaning of happiness. For many mormons in the mormon corridor happiness was in having more and not less. I don't think that it has anything to do with a closed or open society. But it has much to do with just what makes Americans tick. In school americans learn that private property is a basic right for a free society. Americans also have what is called an American dream which is based on individualism and self reliance. No room for the UO in the American dream. And that is the problem. The united order is about cooperativeness and humanhood. It is not about greed and the search for well-being in commodities.

[why me]

That's a very worthy question. Put into a materialistic only context where one's spiritual sensors are totally deaf they would only be able to perceive different actions and behaviors.

The difference is very much spiritual and that difference makes most all the difference.

In Zion the people would be eager to meet their bishop and consecrate their surplus.

In Hell the people would be resentful to meet their handler and surrender their goods.

For the last two decades many americans have lived in hell according to your definitions. But many have not realized it. However now with the credit crunch and with the recession many ordinary people will be paying the price for the greed that infected the world. And in america, it is the lower middle class that were sold the american dream when they could not afford it. Now the dream has disappeared and many are in need of an United Order. But...it will not come. The Greed goddess is not far away and is more than willing to sell greed when the economy goes into a correction and begins to mend. And many, including the lds will again worship the greed goddess in the United States.

Yes, we are in hell and bondage as Israel was in Egypt. America is an Egypt now.

If things get on the mend then this is for sure when ALL should eliminate all of their debts and get themselves as worthy as possible to join a united order and to be prepared to relocate in order to accomplish it. Help your family members get out of all debt too if you can. If you love them you will use much pursuasion and LONG SUFFERING.

The fundamentals are completely missing from our economy. We are only able to subsist because other nations are absorbing our inflation with their productivity. When things do fall apart, as they most assuredly will, I hope you are somewhere the Lord has confirmed to you to be.

If where you are going doesn't have a proper system of eternal inheritances under a system of consecration then you have not been garnered and better keep looking. Wheat will know how the proper system is to function. If you think its turning over your library to a central repository you are not only not in the ballpark but you may not even be on the planet.

I can imagine the Lord saying something like this, "If you are not wheat, you are not mine."

Our job is simply to make of ourselves wheat and then he will guide us to where we won't pollute his garnering point.
