They didn't know right from wrong when they 'sinned'. Therefore it wasn't really a 'sin' but a law was broken to bring upon us a mortal probation.

But I see what you are getting at.

Sin causes us to hide from God, others, and even ourselves in denial at times.

But I am referring to the pain that sin causes to our conscience at times when we are left to ponder. We feel the need for peace, a way to get rid of the guilt. This prepares us to seek for God when we find sin has left us empty.

I think it's a stretch to say the didn't know right from wrong... maybe I'll start a new thread though so Lamanite doesn't unleash poly rage on me.
