AngelPalmoni Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 There has been a specific subject to which I have been interested in for about 3 months which has taken me really really far. I haven't had this much fun with the gospel since my mission. It started one day when this quote was pressed upon my thoughts. "I could explain a hundred fold more than I ever have of the glories of the kingdoms manifested to me in the vision, were I permitted, and were the people prepared to receive them." Joseph Smith The fire burned greater when I pondered the quote, "If I revealed all that has been made known to me, scarcely a man on this stand would stay with me." and "Brethren, if I were to tell you all I know of the kingdom of God, I do know that you would rise up and kill me." It is these quotes that pushed me to study harder and deeper than ever before. I have since then run into a great deal of ideas and many people that have helped me. So these are certiantly not all my ideas or work. Joseph Smith stated the problem: "I have tried for a number of years to get the minds of the Saints prepared to receive the things of God," but they "will fly to pieces like glass as soon as anything comes that is contrary to their traditions: they still cannot stand the fire at all." Do you think that possibly this same problem still exists? Could we, in a sence, be putting walls and boundaries on truth almost to the point that other religions have done so. Short of the Prophet coming out and anouncing new doctrine no one is excited to study accept or understand new truths, it's frustrating really. I've talked to a great deal of people recently and they all seem to be very closed minded... I'm actually really hoping that you can push things further with your knowledge. First and last, the gospel is learning unlimited. So to a degree don't think that a doctrine has a definition... the definition is only the simplest way of explaining it. Because every doctrine in infinitly deep. Use the drawing which I've posted here to follow the progression of intelligences! He also told me Joseph Smith is not a prophet, and you have to worship god a specififc way, my way, to get into heaven.But moving onto your theory,What is knowledge?how do you gain knowledge?Thanks

That is why it's here! My sunday school class of 14 year old kids actually grasp this stuff. Sure there is stuff that I won't say but other than that everyone can learn somthing more!~angelpalmoni~
annewandering Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 i am not an Egyptologist at all but in regards to your question of do we reject gospel knowledge as a church?sure we do. look at the United Order. look at the priesthood being denied to faithful members of the church. we cant even get the simple things right sometimes. look at all the debate on this board. we do it all the time or we would be lifted up like the City of Enoch. look at the missing plates of the book of mormon. why are they missing?we do know all we need to know. we dont need to know all the nuts and bolts. faith, repentance baptism and the receiving of the holy ghost by those given authority. what else do we need?if we get to involved in the 'deeper' things, we tend to forget what is needed and just delve to satisfy our curiosity or our egotism.

Does anyone feel that there was a Plan of Salvation before this plan? Christ did only that which he saw the father do... Does anyone feel that there will be another plan of salvation after this one? Do you know how that is going to work? I'm going to post the think of the scroll here again so that you can take a closer look that the progression the drawing first goes through the plan of salvation before us, then if goes through the plan of salvation we are in... then it goes through the next plan of salvation. Do their parents object to having Heavenly Father referred to as Osiris?
