Tithing Question

Now to put a twist on the topic. What about payint tithing on your income tax return? I know what I am going to do. What about you all? What if you get more back than you put in?

I think it's ridiculous to try to make sure that you have paid exactly 10% of your gross income (or increase). In general most people will say if you paid on gross up front then no you don't have to pay on returns. If you get more back then you paid in then, in theory, you would tithe on the amount over what you paid in. I honestly don't think God is going to whip out a calculator and ledger book to check if we gave 10% of every nickel that passed through our hands. We are getting a little pharisaical about tithing.
