Darren10 Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I do not expect for all others to fall in line with wha I believe. I do, however, epxress my joy in sharing what I believe with others and I would very much to know of any concerns or doubts they may have regarding my faith when I share it with them. I think what Cal and Helen Fullerton are doing is commendable. They are laying out facts about Mormonism and its belifs in a stragithforward, open, and, most importantly, non deceptive way. I glanced at their website and even clicked on the "fast facts" which lay out LDS teachings which promote the essential biblibcal teachings for salvation. I thank them for doing that. From their "fast facts" linke:It is because the LDS does adhere to the essential message of the New Testament -- not only the teachings that we all must adhere to for salvation in Christ (for example, “God exists”), but more significantly, teachings that effectuate, or bring about, salvation. It is also because all their false teachings concern nonessential issues. Nonessentials are principles that may be important for spiritual growth but on which someone may be in error without losing their status as a forgiven, born-again, blood-bought, heaven-bound child of God.The vital question is, “Does the Mormon Church encourage people to make Jesus Christ their personal Lord and Savior?” The answer is unequivocally yes.(bold blue mine)http://evangelicalsandmormonsforjesus.com/fast-facts.htmFurthermore, their LDS citations are accurate, clear, and are in no way distortions from what "Mormons belive". On many levels, I do appretiate what the Fullerton's are doing.
HairBear Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Maybe this is wishful thinking, but hopefully this website and its message is a step in the right direction. I'm sure we LDS don't demand that others agree with everything we believe, but that they at least be respectful and accurate of our beliefs.
