Nathair/|\ Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Would it be something they'd provide access to online do you think? I'd really like to get to see/hear some of your presentation, it's sounded awesome thus far.Seconded.
Robert F. Smith Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 We can agree on that.I have spent time actively looking for those references in the BOM. I got a sense that they were aware of the temple, but it was very subtle. Outside 2 Ne 2, there was nothing very explicit, just a hint here or there.cdowisI was only able to present the high points of his Power Point presentation, but he will presumably include much more detail in his book covering all of this. Gordon Thomasson and I also have a book on the ethnology of the Book of Mormon in preparation which deals with other aspects of this same theme -- in other, but complementary ways. There is an astonishing but unavoidable subtext and intertext which is assumed by the authors and editors.
KellyHawker Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Sorry i'm posting this a year later, but I was there at David Bokovoy's presentation last year, and it blew my mind! So much of what he said helped make going through the temple for the first time (later that year) that much more meaningful and a little less overwhelming. AND I loved the fact that he said "fricken". It made my life. My brother and I are coming to his lectures this week and are loving them! 2

I'm so pleased that you got something out of the series. And yes, that word just popped out in the excitement of it all, much to my Mom's dismay. I'm not a swearing man, but once in a while when you're really excited and stumbling for the right adjective, you never know what's going to come out. 1
