Are Missionaries Still Told To Ignore 'No Soliciting' Signs?

There does seem to be more of a sheep mentality among missionaries of today. A willingness and desire to blank out inspiration in favor of obedience to a mission president. It is strange to me.

Haha, clearly you've never visited my mission.

As to the OP, I know that I typically ignored the signs because I didn't feel - and was told the same by several members of the local police - that they applied to us as missionaries. Only thing I paid attention to - typically - were gated communities and no trespassing signs. And parking lot contacting, I refused to do it, thought it was pointless.

Street contacting is/was totally worthless. Of all the people street contacted not a one honored or made a 2nd appointment.

I do not recall my MP saying anything about "No Soliciting" signs, but I know I had several debates with companions on the matter. I consider peddling religion the same to peddling bug spray or anything else. Though, I often willing ignored the "No Soliciting" signs on homes.
