Simple Wisdon From Primary Songs

Recommended Posts

Lately, I've reflected a lot on the contention that I sometimes perceive in the world, not to mention message boards, and I recalled a simple, yet powerful, lesson we used to sing in a favorite childhood song from Primary:

I want to be kind to everyone, for that is right, you see.

So I say to myself, "Remember this: kindness begins with me!"

What are your favorite life-lessons learned in Primary or other songs of your childhood that might help to heal some of the adult heartaches we often encounter?

"Kindness begins with me" - I like that song, Daniel! Sometimes I sing it to my kids, when they're fighting & I'm feeling relaxed enough to sing. ha ha

It is important to be kind, especially when voicing differing opinions. I'm not perfect, but I try.

I agree, music can be healing, especially songs we grew up with.

There are soooooo many great primary songs!

-Tell me the stories of Jesus

-I'm trying to be like Jesus

-Sing your way home (uplifting!)

-Give said the little stream

-Choose the right way

-My Heavenly Father Loves Me (often sing it to my kids to fall asleep)

I like signing songs... like

-Teach me to walk in the light of his love

-As I have loved you

A newer Primary song that I really like is "I'll walk with you" (when primary sings, it brings me to tears!)

Probably the primary song that had the most positive impact on me is,

"Where Love is" - I used to accompany my sister on piano as she'd sing - good memories!
