Individuals can reach their own conclusions what these facts mean. For example - it is fact that JS had polygamous marriages. That is fact. The why is up for interpretation. It is fact that JS hid (for a time) his polygamous relationships. The why is up for interpration.And the church does not hide either one.

Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 The smoke and mirrors is actually the false dichotomy that somehow we MUST talk about all things that may be true rather focus on truths that bring us closer to the Lord. There is a main quick highway. The direction is clear and the road is fairly straight. It is what we need to focus on in order to get where we need to be.We don't talk about the side roads. They are roads, that is true, but they do not take us to the places we were meant to follow. All the roads are "true" roads going somewhere. But only one road is "THE" true road taking us to Christ and therefore they are not useful to us. We know of them, but we don't focus on them. Others who wish to take different paths focuse on them, indeed, others who have left our road want us to follow theirs. But it isn't for us, they do not offer us any destination we are interested in. Is it smoke and mirrors or is it merely the fact that not all roads matter to us. because they are less useful than the one we are on?
