Or are you talking about learning of someone else's revelation (like Joseph Smith's first vision)?It depends on the manifestation. Consider Sidney Rigdon for example... the people of Moses who saw the pillar of fire and parting of the Red Sea. One cannot say. Did Rigdon simply see without being spiritually touched? The people of Moses?

The people of Moses?I think they were, probably, very touched in the moment (or "awed"). But, the Bible is full of people, who had wonderful spiritual experiences (first hand experiences of God) and still fell back into unbelief, or weaknesses. Seems stunning that they would, but I kind of understand it, if one starts second guessing those experiences and losing faith, or wondering about the source...
