Paul Osborne Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Can you afford Elder Holland this same explanation?I considered Elder Holland's talk to be passionate, not angry...a passionate affirmation, not an angry offense.I will listen to the talk again after the passage of time and see if my perception changes. I can understand the need for one to be passionate about their message. I do think that passion through the expression of love go pretty good together. Imagine if all the speakers expressed themselves as elder Holland did. Just imagine if every talk carried the same passion and sharp message against those who disagree with the church. Would that be a spiritual feast for you?Paul O
Uncle Dale Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 I will listen to the talk again after the passage of time and see if my perception changes....I watched it again, in segments of a couple of minutes each. When broken up that way, I found that there were portions of the talk that felt better to me than others.I also listened to it with no picture -- and watched it with no sound.Listening was easier than watching. In observing the man he simply does not come across as a born-again, Spirit-filled, special witness of Jesus.I mean that only in the context of this particular video. I've never had a reason to single him out, as being different from the other GAs before.Perhaps it would be useful to have a "body language expert" look at it.UD
