valkator Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 ...just passing along this book for anyone who may be interested in the subject of human creation from accounts that mirror and flow along with LDS-specific accounts. The best synopsis of this work comes from the author, himself:Since the sudden dawn of human civilization, the belief that mankind was a created species, separate from the rest of animal species throughout the Earth has persisted. Remarkably, throughout the world the traditions are nearly identical: some sort of "Messengers" came down from the heavens, and created a Terrestrial version of themselves, a primate species that was "in their image." Time and time again, translators of the ancient Scriptures, seemingly purposefully altered the words from the original places, changing "Elohim" into "God" and "Nefilim" into Giants. References to the Sons of "El" and the Sons of the "Elohim" were never explained, nor was Jesus' quote from the Psalms that "You are all elohim." Biogenesis explores the various Middle Eastern traditions from the Torah to the Psuedepigraphical, Apocryphal, Gospel, Gnostic, Dead Sea Scrolls, Talmudic and various other works all the way up to the Qur'aan and Islamic traditions of "Hadeeth," relative to this matter. As well, the "Majestic Plural" of the Torah and Qur'aan are explained definitively, and such ancient mysteries as the identity of "Melchizedek," the "Angel of the LORD" and the anthropomorphism of the Qur'aanic "Rabb" are forever solved. Peripherally, in support, various world traditions are correlated with these Abrahamic concepts; demonstrating the Universality of these things which were recorded by the ancients.Biogenesis: The Creation of Man By An Angelic Species
jadams_4242 Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Biogenesis: The Creation of Man By An Angelic Species Some of this that you are stateing I have heard came from superstitions of biblical canon, and very wrong and evil translations along the line. There are a couple l.d.s documentaries...one is called "mysteries of the bible" the other is called " banned vrom the bible". i,m thinking the stuff you are referancing is from stuff "banned from the bible?"
valkator Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 I'm not exactly sure what you're suggesting, given that LDS hold to a creation of man by a physical, higher being -- first as spirit bodies within the higher realms -- and then bodies of the more Earthly-type once the Fall happened. The Heavenly Father comes out of a context and doesn't exist in isolation. Whether 'species' is an appropriate term or not is another matter. So, I'm not sure what you are thinking is 'evil' in the introduction by the author? Just because certain material wasn't included in the 'canon' of the bible or predates the writings of the bible doesn't make it 'evil' or even incorrect. Revelation, then as now, is open and ongoing and it cannot be limited to 'fixed canons' - even though the bible provides a good foundation. I would suggest you read the book, check the references, and cross reference it with LDS material before making a judgement.
valkator Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 ...born versus created? ...two sides of the same coin of manifestation. I don't see a conflict between the two realities.

What i was referring too is the translation issues and changes made by some you reffer too. And about the "giants" and so forth, that stuff is very bad, and if not bad, then its evil. I have information on this stuff.
valkator Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 Ah, ok. I wasn't really sure what you were saying and it seemed somewhat negative. My apologies! Yes, those translation issues are addressed in the book in a similar way you are talking about. Not everything in the book is totally agreeable, but there's a lot of good, supporting information.
Zhavric Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 I'm sorry, but the path of human evolution is a well charted one. Do you have any evidence we came from anything other than our ape-like ancestors?
valkator Posted July 23, 2007 Author Posted July 23, 2007 I'll begin by saying that I am not speaking for the LDS point of view and my comments should not be construed as being representative of current, Mormon doctrine. The theory of evolution is just that - a theory. It is imposed by the mind of man onto reality in the attempt to understand 'where he came from' based only on what he can physically see and verify. Any evidence which he cannot physically verify or that falls outside of his observed reality (which is determined by his 'nature') will not be understood or accepted. Man that only finds 'evidence' according to what man sees, within this type of scientific materialism, is the sole measure of things. If all you see is your 'connection' to 'ape-like' ancestors and believe that you came from 'them' - then perhaps that's true for you. You may not be from the line of Adam that came from and 'descends' from a different lineage of physical ancestors. For more on this, the following excerpt and the entire Book III of Gnosis by Boris Mouravieff is available at the link below. In the first volume of â??Gnosisâ??, we already referred several times to the coexistence of two essentially different races: one of Men, and another of Anthropoids. We must emphasize the fact that from the esoteric point of view the latter term has no derogatory meaning.â?¦The Scriptures contain more than one reference to the coexistence on our planet of these two humanities â?? which are now alike in form but unlike in essence. We can even say that the whole dramatic history of humanity, from the fall of Adam until today, not excluding the prospect of the new era, is overshadowed by the coexistence of these two human races whose separation will occur only at the Last Judgement. (p. 107)â?¦The human tares, the anthropoid race, are the descendants of pre-adamic humanity. The principal difference between contemporary pre-adamic man and adamic man â?? a difference which is not perceived by the senses â?? is that the former does not possess the developed higher centres that exist in the latter which, although they have been cut off from his waking consciousness since the Fall, offer him a real possibility of esoteric evolution. Apart from this, the two races are similar: they have the same lower centres, the same structure of the Personality and the same physical body, although more often than not this is stronger in the pre-adamic man than in the adamic; regarding beauty, we must not forget that pre-adamic man and woman were created by God on the sixth day, in His image and after His likeness, and that the daughters of this race were beautiful. (pp. 108-109)By identifying himself with the â??Iâ?? of his Personality, Adam lost consciousness of his real â??Iâ?? and fell from the Eden that was his original condition into the same condition as the pre-adamicsâ?¦ The two humanities, coming from two different creative processes, later mingled on the level of organic life on Earthâ?¦ From then on, the coexistence of these two human types, and the competition which was the result of this, became the normâ?¦we can see that throughout the centuries, even in our own day, adamics in their post-fall condition, have been are are generally in an inferior position to the pre-adamics.â?¦For the moment we will restrict ourselves to repeating that contemporary adamic man, having lost contact with his higher centres and therefore with his real â??Iâ??, appears practically the same as his pre-adamic counterpart. However, unlike the latter, he still has his higher centres, which ensure that he has the possibility of following the way of esoteric evolution. At present, pre-adamic man is deprived of this possibility, but it will be given to him if adamic humanity develops as it should during the era of the Holy Spirit. (p. 129)Gnosis: Book III
