Book Of Mormon & Archeology?

See, this is the problem. The is only one sample of ancient Chinese DNA in that was tested, and one sample of ancient Japanese, and they don't match up well with modern Asian DNA or native american DNA, ancient or modern. Dan prefers to just rely on the uninformed generalized opinions of others rather than actually look at the evidence.

The problem is that Native American DNA does match up to Asia.

You're reducing what is an amazingly complex and difficult situation down to two simple blurbs. You can't possibly think that your argument means anything. Are you just patronizing for the sake of patronization, or is there some new research that you're going to unleash on the world once you've driven everyone crazy with this idiotic line of reasoning?

I was just showing how illogical your argument was. That hardly calls for groundbreaking research.

I was refuting your reductionist conclusion that the similarity of modern asian DNA to native american DNA has anything whatsoever to do with anything at all related to the Book of Mormon. What is illogical about that?

Does this mean that you are not proving anything to anyone?

True, asian DNA doesn't have anything to do with the BOM, but not for the reason you assume. My claim IS simple. Native American DNA linkage to Asia doesn't disprove the BOM, but it doesn't support it either. It could have, but it so far hasn't. As I said, it's another dead end for the BOM. Another chance at verification lost (even according to LDS geneticists).

Now, generally, is or is there not a genetic linkage between Native American and Asian DNA? You seem to imply that there isn't.

I believe the DNA has been positively linked to Asia. What I am interested though in is whether the Lamanaties change in skin color destroyed their old DNA. The possibility of verification was something the Book of Mormon destroyed itself.

That's perfect. Voila.

Regarding the dearth of BofM archaeology I would suggest adobe (cement, no?) and wood. Biodegradation is the best bet to explain why there's no trace of BofM archaeology. Voila.

I think that about wraps up this thread. Voila!

I'm not following. You agree that Native American DNA is linked to Asia, but then you suggest that their "old DNA" was destroyed with their curse. Are you saying Native Americans are really from Israel, but the curse changed their DNA to make them appear to be from Asia? Regardless, we seem to agree that there is no evidence for an Israelite presence in America.

I only hold that some might have been of another race of men, and we wouldn't neccearily know it. That is of course if a miracle was involved which is a matter of faith.

Have enough DNA tests been done on dead people dating to Book of Mormon times to discount Nephite DNA. The only time Nephite DNA might have been obscurred is when they were reputedly destroyed. I would not expect the Lamanite DNA to be the same as Nephite DNA.

I am thinking of Dr. Sorensons proposed maps. And I was thinking if the studies on dead peoples DNA from his proposed areas only show a Asian link that would go against the existence of Nephites. If there was no Nephites there was no Lamanites. But the Nephites if they existed must have atleast left an ancient DNA trace.
